Postcards
Many clients ask about direct mail, wondering how effective a direct mail campaign would be in today's environment. My answer - not all advertising campaigns work for all clients. I suggest trying different ideas and see what gets the best response. Today email inboxes are full. Email can be a time bandit if we let it. Direct mail can break through the clutter.
Many people prefer to have hard copy, something they can hold and read at their leisure.
Postcards can be a great way to get started with direct mail.
I have a 5 suggestions help the effectiveness of your direct mail postcard:
Keep your messaging simple and evoke an emotional response. Within seconds of looking at a mail piece your customer will decide to read it or not. Is your message easy to read? not too busy? Does it quickly convey your message or product? Remember you only have a few seconds...
Know your audience and who you want to target before you begin the design of the card.
Provide an offer or some sort of action for them to be able to follow up on. Think of offering a discount, rebate, or a small giveaway.
Have a deadline for them to respond to receive what you are offering to help them make a decision and not think about it too long.
Talk with your printer or graphic designer to see what type of postcard will be best for your marketing campaign.
When we work with clients we help design the piece using the most effective design, layouts, fonts, choice of paper options, and images to obtain the most impact.
